What we hoped for
My wife and I recently celebrated a joint birthday getaway at Granaway Guest House, Warwick, Bermuda. It was all we hoped for -to be welcomed into an authentic 18th century Bermudian manorhouse. Granaway’s central location about midway across Bermuda makes it a good base for exploring the islands. The breakfasts are a social event with (interesting) fellow guests sharing stories, personal Bermuda tips and planning the day’s adventures with hosts Michael and Carol. Michael was even kind enough to run us over to the fabulous beaches at Warwick’s Southshore Park, but these can be reached under 10 minutes away by taxi. The Belmont Ferry to Hamilton and connections beyond is about a ten minute walk. The nearest restaurants/bar are located across a golfcourse that can be accessed though a gate in the house’s garden. Yes the private waterfront terrace and landing is across a somewhat busy road (remember look right first!) but that’s pretty close for a private dip and snorkel, and the swimming pool is set in the home’s lovely gardens. Other reviewers have commented that the rooms are somewhat ‘dated’ -well the house was built in the 1740’s and it is a home not a hotel, so travelers desiring a ‘Crate & Barrel’ experience probably should book elewhere. We were completely happy with our ‘Royal Room’ -eccentricly decorated with Carol’s collection of House Of Windsor memoribilia. It had all the character, charm and ambiance we could ask for -and a small private terrace overlooking Hamilton Harbour and the Great Sound. Michael and Carol can be slow to communicate prior to arrival, but if you want a real Bermuda stay with warm, caring hosts, Granaway is it. We will be back!

Relaxing Bermuda visit
My husband and I rented the cottage for 10 nights in July 2019. The cottage is a little run down, but we believe we got what we paid for. The breakfasts were the best! Francisco was an amazing host, cooking and serving breakfast each morning at 9am. The coffee was delicious, and the fresh fruit salad, homemade muffins and eggs a treat.
It was very relaxing to sit by the pool. I was almost always alone, and the beautiful flowers just added to charm.
I didn’t realize before I booked the trip how small and expensive Bermuda was. 5 nights is more that enough.
Elbow beach and the coves to the left of Horseshoe bay are the nicest.
Rent a scooter, because I heard from other guests how unreliable the buses are.
Carol and Michael are nice hosts. You can tell they have been doing this for many years. They are beyond fortunate to have someone as nice as Francisco working so hard for theMichael

Perfect peaceful pleasant base
Unique, clean, comfy room felt like home! Host, hostess, home assistant/cook were most welcoming and helpful! Wonderful breakfast on upper floor of this three hundred year old home with an open air view of the bay was a magnificent way to start our day! Beautiful pool area. The hospitality of the island was truely embodied in our stay here…did not want to leave!!

Charming
Lovely bnb. We were in the cottage, it was comfortable, quiet, well equipped and the wifi was v good. We had our own private garden.
There was a lovely pool area and there is a gate into the golf course(which is a great off road walk to to the ferry stop)
Across the road is the seaside garden, again a lovely spot to chill out with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.
Great breakfasts, Francisco was a super host and look after us very well.Theryans8

A Real Gem of a Place!
The Granaway was an absolutely perfect place to stay. Michael, Carol, and Francisco were beyond hospitable and generous. We bonded with Michael and Carol so quickly, so much so that we felt like old friends after a few days. Francisco makes a gorgeous breakfast every morning in a sunny room overlooking the bay. He even gave us rides to the beach, called taxis, and also drove us to the ferry stop. The house is stunning with its beauty and history (built in the 1700’s!). My wife especially loved the pool, which was surrounded by an impressive forest of palms and banana trees. Granaway truly felt like a home away from home! We plan on making another journey back soon. I promise, you will not be disappointed if you stay here!
